Fibre Connect API update

This is an update on the progress of our Fibre API development, aimed at replacing our aging Portal B2B and enhancing your order integration experience. We are making significant strides in releasing these, and we're excited to share the latest developments with you.

Firstly, the Place API and Product Offering API have successfully transitioned from production beta to stable versions. Stable means the project team will no longer be refining these APIs and any future changes will follow standard versioning process. This gives you the confidence these APIs are now performing as designed. In addition, we are gearing up for the beta release of the Manage Appointment API and Manage Order API, scheduled for 28 March 2024. The technical documentation for these APIs is now available, allowing you to familiarise yourself with their features and capabilities ahead of time. Access and documentation can be accessed through the API Explorer.

We aim to have Order Feasibility API, Manage Appointment API, and Manage Order API all transition to stable versions simultaneously around the middle of the year. We will keep you informed when this happens and notify you before the final API is released to ensure a smooth transition process.

Our new API versioning policy will also apply from 28 March 2024. This outlines how we manage and communicate change for our APIs. Thank you to those of you that took the time to give feedback and shape what this will look like. The versioning policy will be published and available here on 28 March 2024.

As a reminder, once all six APIs are considered stable, we will issue a 12-month decommissioning notice for the current Portal B2B system. We have previously communicated this plan to you, and this update serves as a progress report on our journey toward full implementation.

Many people from your organisations have participated in our API co-design forum since late 2022 and we can’t thank you enough for their consistent participation and rich input. Our designs truly have been a collaborative effort across the industry with great feedback resulting in APIs we know you want to use. We are finalising the design of the last API as we speak and we are currently uncertain about a need for any further sessions. We will reach out to this design community directly as we progress.

We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way and welcome any feedback or questions you may have. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration as we work to enhance your B2B experience.
